1. An old donkey knows more than a young colt because it has been in life longer and has learned many things from his experiences in life. For example the way a young colt would react to a storm would be very frightened as for an old donkey they would have gone through storms before and would wait till it was over. Another example would be if a wild animal attacked them, a youn colt would most likely just run around but an old donkey would probebly know to hide and stay calm until the animal went away.

Reading response 1. "An old donkey knows more than a young colt," (p. 55).
I disagree with it, because a young colt is more willing to explore and learn while an old donkey might know the past and not have the energy to explore and learn the present.

1. I agree and disagree because the old donkey may know more useful information then the young colt. The young colt may know more childish and more modern information then the old donkey. So it really depends on the old donkey and the young colt but in my point of view they know the same amount of information. Some of the information might be the same and some might be different.

1. I agree because like what Leah said, an old jack can be wise and have info but the colt may have new info the old jack doen't know about the futer.

Leah, I'm sorry but how can the young colt know the same amout of info as the old donkey? I agree with every thing you send except for that part. Could you explain?

Leah C. said...

4. Darwin I agree that a colt is more willing to learn new things but have you ever thought that the info the young colt got could have come from the old donkey's experiences that the old donkey showed the young colt.

Tyler - You response is well thought out and written well. I understand everything you said. A liked your example too.

Darwin - I see where your thinking is going. Give me an example of when a "young colt" has shown he/she knows more than an "old donkey." Great start.

Leah - Interesting thought. I like how you used the word "modern." Can you give me an example of what you mean? Are you're saying that they have the say "amount" of information, it is just on different topics?

Cindy-Good start. Give me some specific examples to support your answer. I feel like you are starting to say that there is a difference between wisdom and knowledge..could you explain that. Keep it up!

Leah- I see where your thoughts are going....clever. It is like the young colt is improving on the original ideas from the old donkey. Can anyone give me an example of this? My mind is racing with so many.

You know how when you get older you forget somethings well when you are young you learn things so not through your whole life you know the same amount of knowledge as an elder. But eventually you will know as much as someone older then you that is why sometimes you teach elders things. Because some of the info others lose you may gain. Now do you get my point?

an old donkey knows more than a young colt because the donkey is like an elder and has plenty of knowlage while the colt is new to the world and does not know as much but as time goes on he could end up having more knowlage than even the elder donkey

I agree with tyler but also disagree because no one knows what could happen in the future

1. an scientist knows more than a baseball player because a scientist works harder for knoledge than a baseball player. for example he studies while the baseball player bats or catches.he tests while baseball players practice

1. I agree that an old donkey knows more than a young colt, because a mother would know more than her young son or daughter. some examples are the mother would know to look both ways before crossing the street, she would know how to cook, and she would know more about the past.

2.I agree with you when you said the old donkey and the young colt might share the info they know.did you think maybe the colt got the info about the future from the donkey?

Andrew said...

1. I agree. an old donkey should have more knowledge because it has been alive longerand has seen more things.

2.Leah when you get older dont you
learn more, but when your young you dont know as much.Right?

Leah C. said...

Yes Andrew you are thinking like I am but I will explain it to you in a way you will understand betterYou know how when you get older you forget somethings well when you are young you learn things so not through your whole life you know the same amount of knowledge as an elder. But eventually you will know as much as someone older then you that is why sometimes you teach elders things. Because some of the info others lose you may gain. Now do you get my point?

Miss Bailin of the thoughts that the quote has said I say yes about them knowing the same amount but on different topics. What I mean by saying is that at one point a young or younger one will know the same amount as an elder.

Cindy827 said...

Yes now I get your point of view of that. Thank you!:)

1. I agree with the statement because a donkey is older and much more experienced than a colt. For example,a donkey would know where to go to get food, where a colt would wonder around for a long time until it found food.

2. joey i disagree with you because a donkey knows more about the past than a colt will learn.

Cindy827 said...

See Andrew that is just what Leah is saying! Great! Now just can you just try to make a small difference to Leah's is what she is saying.

1.I disagree of and old donkey knows more than a young colt beacause the donkey probally won't be strongly or can't take his knowledge out beacause of his old age
2. -darwin
i love your idea! I disagree to. I had to stop myself from writing that idea.Have you ever thought about a donkey may not even know much at all? Thank you for making me think.

1. I think it is true because an old donkey, who would spend most of his time listening, would become wise, while a frisky young colt, who would spend most of his time galloping about, would learn much less(especially since colts don't have too go to school).

2. DONE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK

(comment)Sammy *I can see how you said this and it made complete sense to me.*

Q1.I completely agree that an old ass kows more than a young colt because they have been alive longer than a young colt.Another example would be an adult knows more than a child and that is why they are the boss of children. like a mom and a daughter , a teacher and a student and so on and so forth...

Q2.Dear Sammy, I realy liked how you decribed #1 it made me think of my answer.Have you ever thought about a young colt being more energetic and knowing more atthe time than fogetinting when it gets older?

Q2.

by Chris Barr said...

1. i agree because a old donkey has been in the world longer and has more intelligence than a young colt. for example if a human tried to pet the young colt it would probably run away franticly, but a old donkey would probably stay calm and if it did not want to be petted it would probably back away slowly.

2. i agree with Darwin but i think that the old donkey would be more willing to explore because he knows more about life and knows more about how to stay alive. can you please give me some more information about why you think that a young colt would be more willing to explore??!!

SammyG said...

(Part Of 2.) I firmly disagree with all who are talking about a young colt wanting to learn and explore more then an old donkey. The old donkey is OLD. He would know more than a young colt, who would probably be much more energetic then curious. Yes, I know old doesn't always mean wise. But the old donkey would listen a lot, while the adventurous young colt would be galloping about. I hope this has made you think. I can't wait to read your response!

Sincerely,
Sammy
